Though, some years ago, UltimateBet took their sponsorships to the next level, and created a so-called "poker team," the most famous team of poker professionals is Team Full Tilt, who followed Team UB's idea of making use of the professionals. Team Full Tilt consists of fourteen professional poker players, who play at Full Tilt Poker regularly and participate in learning sessions to learn beginners how to act in the different situations you can face in a game of poker. They are also those, who you can see when you watch Full Tilt Poker commercials on television. In addition to Team Full Tilt, there's a group of poker players, called "Full Tilt Pros" and they are those who are bound to wear Full Tilt Poker merchandise, when participating in big tournaments, and in return Full Tilt Poker pays the entire entrance fee for the tournament and maybe the board and lodging too.
Team Full Tilt has a remarkable lineup, and it is considered the best poker team in the world, though they doesn't play matches against other poker teams like in NFL or soccer. In fact, Team Full Tilt can meet with competing each other at final tables in tournaments, and suddenly become enemies. That would make an interesting battle, because the members of Team Full Tilt are extremely good, and here is three of the members:
Howard Lederer
He goes by the nickname "The Professor" and with his two WSOP Bracelets (a WSOP Bracelet is a prize for winning the World Series of Poker) he is an icon in the poker world. Besides he has also won two World Poker Tour-titles, and was awarded WPT Player Of The Year in 2003. As young, Howard Lederer was a talented chess player, and the reason he moved to New York in his university-age was the city's famous chess clubs, e.g. Manhattan Chess Club where he played, and it was in some of New York's chess clubs Howard Lederer learned to play poker. Howard Lederer soon began to play poker more than chess, and after a while he moved to Las Vegas and began to play poker seriously.
Howard Lederer is one of the key figures in Team Full Tilt, since he was the one who invented Tiltware, Inc., the company that owns and created Full Tilt poker, and therefore he's also considered "the leader" of Team Full Tilt. Later, Tiltware, Inc. renamed itself to Pocket Kings and moved to Ireland.
Phil Ivey
He is maybe one of the most respected persons among professional poker players. If you sit at the same table as Phil, your best chance to not going bankrupt is to leave. Phil Ivey has amazing seven WSOP Bracelets, and he won his first at the age of 23, beating Phil Hellmuth at the final table in a $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event.
2002 was another amazing year for Phil Ivey. It was the year he won another three WSOP Bracelets in $2,000 SHOE, $1,500 Seven-Card Stud and $2,500 Seven-Card Stud, besides he made it to several final tables in World Poker Tour. 2002 was the year that Phil Ivey got his breakthrough and entered the poker elite.
